Ryan P. Yates also known “Fresh” is the Chief Operating Officer of Herbs and Oils Hair Care Essentials LLC, a natural hair product line. As COO, Ryan is second in command, assisting the CEO and founder of Herbs & Oils, Eva, (who is also his sister), in overseeing the day-to-day operations in all areas, providing supply chain expertise, building annual revenue growth and sales projections goals, as well as providing the overall moral, vision, and execution of the team and department heads of Herbs & Oils.
Ryan has always had a business mindset and entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. Ryan learned about the beauty industry by working with his mother, who in fact, was a Hairstylist and seamstress. She tasked him with assisting in the organization of hair and fashion shows. Ryan would also D.J. these events, which further lead him into party promotions, concert promotions, and the entertainment industry. While attending The Community College of Allegheny in Pittsburgh, PA, Ryan was working for the biggest promoters in his city. After much success within that company, Ryan struck out on his own and co- founded Royal Lion Entertainment and also merged with 360 Entertainment which brought some of the biggest concerts and parties to Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Florida, and overseas. Some of the promotional events included artists such as the Isley Brothers, Roy Ayers, Bettie Grinde, Angela Bofill, & The S.O.S. Band, Fat Joe, Big Punisher, DJ Khaled, Sean “P Diddy '' Combs, Too Short, & DJ Kool just to name a few artists, as well as a host of NFL and NBA events.
In conjunction with the entertainment industry, Mr. Yates excelled in the real estate business working with H.U.D, The Department of Housing and Urban Development. This venture allowed Ryan to further hone his entrepreneurial skills and staff development expertise by gainfully employing, training, and organizing a team of plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and painters responsible for renovations and rehabilitation of numerous properties.
The success of Ryan’s real estate investments, afforded him the opportunity to invest in a record label, HoodSupa Star Entertainment. Not only was Mr. Yates a financial investor, he also partnered with his artist Bettie Grinde in starting the record label, and the day-to-day operations. Mr. Yates was active in the development of the company brand, as well as artist management, development, as well as the label’s A&R. The independent record label’s success garnered attention from a hit song entitled “Dammit I’m fly” by the label’s co- owner and artist Bettie Grinde. The single was played in over 50 markets throughout the US & abroad. The success of the single landed Hood SupaStar Entertainment in front of multiple major record labels and distributors. As a visionary, Ryan, and Hood Supa Star Management, started a film production company, Leonidas Films, which shot all of the record label’s music videos.
Ryan’s real estate ventures also morphed into him managing a construction company’s sites, overseeing all operations and project management duties from ground break to completion.
Ryan currently resides in Charlotte, NC, and is being honored in a hip hop Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh PA for his many contributions in the hip hop industry for break dancing in a group he co- founded “Rock City B-Boys' ' which he is being recognized for by the Pittsburgh Legends of Dance. He is also being honored as one of the founding members of The Garfield Gators Youth Football Team, where he mentored thousands of youth that went on to pursue college degrees, and several are currently in the NFL.
